We took him to the vet yesterday and they are saying pancreatitis though. This morning, he is dranks some water but still does not want to eat. How long do you think it should take until he will eat again? -------- Gastritis - Acute dog experience Dog Owner: Rivkah Location: Ellijay, Georgia, USA My 3 year old Pekingese began refusing to eat on Friday. She would not eat on Saturday or Sunday either. She vomited a frothy yellow substance about twice per day. She was lethargic and had no energy. She was just not her usual self. On Monday I took her to my veterinarian. She had lost two pounds and was slightly dehydrated. He gave her a thorough exam and he said that she had most likely contracted Gastritis, possibly by eating something that contained infectious agents. He gave her subcutaneous fluids and an injection to counteract the nausea. He also prescribed for her metronidazole and metoclopramide tablets to take for ten days. She responded quickly to the treatment and had a full recovery -- thank goodnedd for good veterinarians. -------- Gastritis - Acute dog experience Dog Owner: Jessie Location: Portland My dog is currently suffering from Acute Gastritis. He is lathargic, and frequently vomiting a frothy yellow substance. This has been going on for about 24 hrs. According to the djiagnosis he will suffer from this for about a week, so he hasn't developed a full fever. I don't think it has spread tot he intestines yet. I haven't seen any bowel movements;he seems to be constipated.
