Orchitis
General information on Orchitis
Orchitis or infection of the testicles is caused by bacteria from scrotal injuries such as puncture wounds, dog bites, frostbite, and burns. Infections of the testicle are a common cause of male infertility.
Symptoms of Orchitis
The symptoms of Orchitis are licking of the scrotum, painful and swelling of the testicles, enlarged and hard testicles, the dog assumes a spread-legged stance, stilted-gait.
Treatments for Orchitis
Orchitis is usually treated with anitbiotics and cold packs to reduce swelling and inflammation. Scrotal injuries can become easily infected and should be treated by a veterinarian.

my dog is nuetered and has been humping things recently. i've noticed that his penis as of late is also coming out and it appears that it looks like it might have been chewed on. also while out there is a small lump around where the base of shaft is but on stomach area..any ideas what could possibly cause this??? signed, concerned --------
